New Name, New Future – When the new facility opens in 2009, it will be known as Matagorda Regional Medical Center. This new name reflects a vision for the continued growth of services, commitment to Matagorda County and recognizes that since 1940 the hospital has become much more than a “general hospital” and now provides care for patients in a widening geographic scope and care setting. The new name and logo will not be used on business documents and signage until the new facility opens. At that time, Matagorda Regional Medical Center will begin doing business as an entity of the Matagorda County Hospital District.
