Construction: The new facility will be a 58-bed, two-story medical center containing approximately 117,900 square feet. Estimated completion date is Summer of 2009.
Location: The new medical center will be located on a 45-acre tract of land at the SE corner of the intersection of Highway 35 and the newly created Nile Valley Parkway.
Responding to Growth: The Emergency Department will expand from 8 to 13 beds. The Operating Room will expand from two to three OR’s. Expansion zones are also built into the current design for future needs.
Efficiency Issues: With the decision to build new, the departmental adjacencies and hallways of the new facility will be designed with the patient, visitors and staff in mind. Operating and maintaining the new facility will be greatly improved.
Consumer Expectations: Of the 58 beds, 54 of them will be private rooms allowing for better privacy, enhanced space for visitors, and decreased chances for nosocomial infections. These new patient rooms will be larger and have their own individual temperature controls. Through limited access points, overall security will also be vastly improved for staff, visitors and patients.
