 Clients may dial directly into the department or area of the hospital to which they wish to be connected without going through the operator.
The Hospital District has been assigned all the numbers in the 6000 series with a 241 prefix. The public can still call (979) 245-6383 and ask for an extension. Numbers beginning with 241-6xxx are direct lines to particular departments. For example, for a copy of your medical records, dial (979) 241-6665.
Voice mail is also included in the system. If the person you are trying to reach is away from his/her desk, the system will answer with voice mail and give the caller additional information, or invite the caller to leave a message. Any time during the voice mail, a caller may dial 0 to return to the operator and request a re-routing of the call.
